Billie the Mission

First and foremost Billie the Vision & the Dancers is a band you ought to see live. With an unique groove, an own style and a contagious charm. But millions of down loads from countries which the band never visited witness about an international current music working on its own. The five albums offers both musical width and contrasts of all kinds. Lars Lindquist's universe populates with/of characters and their stories about hope, longing, joy and comfort has been embraced by the fans
like a dear friends worries.

The music has since the start 2004 been released by their own record company Love Will Pay the Bills and has also since then been available for down load for free at the bands website. The approach was meant as an alternative and smarter way out in the business, adapted to the changes going on in the music industry. Seven years later there's no doubt that it, together with a never ending touring, was an effective way to reach an audience. Billie the Vision & the Dancers is neither indie cool/hip nor mainstream and has at this point stopped waiting for the traditional medial break through home in Sweden.

Throughout the years Billie the Vision & the Dancers has not only played at Sweden's biggest stages and festivals but also toured at high schools and some of the heaviest prisons in Stockholm, they have supported the friends in The Pipettes and cult Seasick Steve in Great Britain, plus their own tours in Germany, Italy and Spain. The band go Manifest nominated (a prize to Swedish independent music companies/producers) for their two first albums and won the prize Rockbjörnen in 2009. The same year Summercat from the first album was used in an advertisement for beer in Spain and became a huge hit that summer.

The members in the band has changed a couple of times since the start i Malmö, but the phenomenon Billie the Vision and the Dancers remains and the music continues to live its own life on the Internet. Today the band has its creative base in Bräkne-Hoby, the little village most of the group members grew up in and now returned to. In 2011 was a compilation Best of Billie the Vision and the Dancers released, and spring 2012 the sixth original album is released.
